Ohio Dairy Producers Association fall meetings were held this November with guest speaker, Joe Outlaw, PhD, Co-Director, Agricultural & Food Policy Center at Texas A&M University. Outlaw shared insights on federal dairy policy and how the Dairy Security Act of 2011 may impact Ohio dairy farmers.

ODPA also provided an update including the latest on the Ohio Livestock Care Standards and water quality & nutrient management issues in Ohio.  Attendees also learned what’s new in dairy at Ohio State and heard a brief update from the dairy and beef checkoff programs.

All meetings were held at a restaurant or hall near the farm and concluded with a dairy farm tour.
